Relief...for the mamma

Mamma took me to the v-e-t again on Wednesday.  This time I realized what she was up to and made it much harder for her and the transport driver to get me into the carrier.  But they did.  And then I almost broke out,but the mamma moved fast and stopped me!  She can move fast once in a while.

At the dreaded place, they told the mamma she could stay in the waiting room while I was tortured and she did!  So I didn't get to make her feel sorry for me like last time.  They took more blood!  What if I run out?

So, they took me back to mamma, said I had been a good girl and that I had gained a pound.  Mamma was very happy about this, it was more than she would have dreamed of.

A v-e-t called yesterday to say my bloods were perfectly normal, right where they should be.  Which is good, but means I have to keep taking the medicine.  The normal vet was out, so mamma will keep on trying the crushed pill in peanut butter for the time being.  Which is icky, gets sticky stuff on me, but she's not shoving her finger down my throat any more.

The mamma and I found out my thyroid was working overtime, which is why I had lost weight.  From what the v-e-t thought, that was the best scenario.  Except now I have to take pills twice a day.  I don't like to be picked up or held at the best of times.   You can imagine how much I hate getting a pill!  I let the mamma know!  She gave up one night, but is learning how to get it done.  Additionally, lots of her friends have given suggestions to make it easier on both of us.  Mamma says I really need to take the pills.  Wish us luck!

Mama just gave a big sigh of relief!

I had not quite been myself lately, but the mama could not put her finger on anything in particular that was wrong......changes but not necessarily bad ones in ladies of a certain age.

Until Sunday when I would not put one paw on the ground when walking for a short time.  After that I favored it, but would usually put weight on it.

Our friend Lisa helped us get me to the dreaded v-e-t.  Although this  one was different.  They gave me treats and baby food.  Yum!  And I got a McDonald's hamburger when we got home.  I go crazy for those.

The vet called and my thyroid is acting up.  It explains everything but the walk.  Since they do not think I am in pain, we will wait and see what happens with that.

The thyroid explains why I have been more hungry lately and am stylishly thin.  Although mama and I would prefer a more Rubenesque figure for me. 

The mama is relieved because she does not have to make any drastic decisions right now and thinks she can afford the treatment.

Now we are having pepperoni pizza to celebrate.

The mama said I was the bestest, sweetest girl at the vet and now she knows for sure she is my number one hooman.  😺

Oh, my...

I really don't have the mamma trained, do I, if I can't get her to post more often.

My tummy is feeling better and that makes us both happy. 

I have heard that today is Boxing Day in some places.  Isn't that a great idea...to celebrate boxes?  Such wonderful creations!  The mamma is trying to tell me it is something different, but that is my story and I'm sticking to it!

Our home has been topsy turvy since the mamma got stuff out of storage earlier this year, but she is supposed to have some help with that starting next week.  We are both looking forward to it.  I'll have enough room for roomies again!  No tight corners!

There are many holidays people celebrate this time of year and we hope everyone has a Happy one.

Long time

...since I've been here and I send apologies.  The mamma just has not been cooperative about some things.  But I'm here now..

The mamma seems to be over the worst of August. Things are kind of back to normal.

She had forgotten how much I like waffles, so was surprised when I gobbled some bits up when she made them.  Then, she ordered Chinese food. I love chicken egg foo young.  There was a surprise, too, cuz the restaurant goofed and sent shrimp fried rice.  We don't usually have shrimp since we are Jewish.  So I made sure I got as much as I could.

The mamma has started giving me a little wet food right before her shower.  It's tasty, but interferes with a big responsibility.  I am supposed to guard her from drain devils that might come thru the pipes and get her.  How can I do that when she feeds me right before that?  Why do humans like to play in that rain they turn on and off anyway?

We have a bit of a kerfluffle going on.  Sometimes I have a period of my sensitive stomach acting up.  The last time, mama gave me lots of treats cuz I seemed to keep them down the best.  She also changed my crunchies and that helped.  But now she thinks I don't eat enough crunchies and I eat too many treats.  She is threatening to cut off my supply!  She has gotten stingy, altho she says I am getting as many as I used to get.  She calls it the case of the irresistible force against the immovable object.  Hmmm...

Special

There are several things the Mamma finds special about me:

I give the most gentle headbonks she has ever seen....she says it is more like I rest my head rather than butt it.

She thinks I am  cute when she throws treats and I swat at them or try to catch them between her paws.  She says I look like I am playing baseball.

At night, when the light hits my fur,  I look like I have a silver halo.

Better

The mamma is feeling better, so I feel better.  She has had lots of sad stuff happen in August and it gets tomnher sometimes.  She assured me it is nothing I have done.  That wss good to hear.  And you know, when the mamma feels better, I feel better!

It's very quiet around here and that is just fine!  MTYL!

Bad sads

I have been a handful lately.  Why?  Because I have been trying to distract the mama from bad sads.  I mean, her eyes almost never leak, but I thought they were going to several times yesterday.

Human Augusts are very hard for her cuz she has had some   bad things happen in Augusts.  Including losing both Quartermaster Scruffy and the Princess.  Ringo tries to explain how devastated everyone was when the Princess, in particular, left the way she did.  The mama's life changed alot in the 5 years since then and some have not been happy changes.

But I have learned the mama will feel better shortly after the worst day....yesterday....and everything will go back to normal.

Respect

Sometimes the mamma has no respect!  I wonder what she would do if I showed pictures of her bathing on the innerwebs!

Excites for the mamma!

The mamma likes to take pictures, but can't get out very often to take them anymore.  She likes to play with them and make them look like paintings or drawings.

A non profit that provides education on one of the places she used to go just shared her picture of a bird on their instagram account.  This means statwide,, maybe national exposure for her.

I didn't tell you all the news...

So, recently, I was playing with the mamma, who says is I can be a lazy huntress.  I showed her!  When she swung the yarn, I made a *big* jump and pounced it.  She had never seen me do that before.

And then the mamma surprised me!  She started making this funny sound....kind of like talking but different.  Later she told me it was called singing.  She had never done that before.

And I supervised a delivery again just a few minutes ago.

Been a while!

I haven't posted anything in quite a while although I have been checking out everyone else's news everyday.  In some ways it seems like not much has happened.

The mamna went to her doctor recently and they changed her feel-goods.  These are little things she *voluntarily* swallows each day that she says help her feel better.  But sometimes a change in those or the weather make her sleep more than normal.  We've had both recently.  She's slept almost as much as me!  MOL!

We had Chinese food last week and I really liked it.  It had chicken and eggs and the sauce was good, too.  She just ordered a pizza a few minutes ago.  I like cheese!  The mamma says there is a surprise for me on it.  (Mamma here...pepperoni).

People have come by to help keep the house clean and to see how she is doing.  She had groceries delivered recently.  I came out from under the table and watched while the delivery woman made 2 trips in with our stuff.  I didn't run even when she spoke to me.  The mamma was good surprised and proud of me.

Well,actually, that does sound like alot!

Good morning!

So, I ate all the wet, some of  my dry, had treats and scrambled eggs.  The mamma has not seen me eat so much at one time!  I think it made both of us feel good.

We also have sunpuddles.

The mamma is *finally* realizing that when I say something, I am trying to converse.  She has finally started answering me!

I have what?

The mamma told me I have Grink ears and toebeans.  I never heard that before, so I asked her what she meant.  She said the insides of my ears and my toebeans are a combination of gray + pink = grink.     Hmmm.  I asked how she could just make up a new color and she said humans do that sometimes and told me about greige and mauve.   I don't know, humans are pretty strange sometimes!

Wow!

So many kitties, humans, and even a doggie have come to visit me due to Miss Katie Isabella's kind words.  I want to thank her for that and thank everyone who came by.  The mamma and I have tried to visit everybody and follow them so we could get to know them better, but, you know humans!  Oh well, I think she did her best and that she will keep trying.

It has been quiet here mostly as the mamma has been feeling a bit under the weather.  But she is trying to work on unpacking a bunch of boxes she used to 'have in storage'.  I will be glad when she is done, cuz they kind of cramp my style. 

Other than that, not much is happening.   The helper mom has hid one of my favorite toys, but mamma got it for me today when she found it.  That's good.

Not much has been going on here the last few days.  Yesterday, the mamma did spill a whole, big, full glass of chocolate milk  on her beautiful rug and that caused a little excitement getting it cleaned up.  Yup, that's how quiet it's been around here.

Mamma might be in trouble soon.  She gas been muttering to herself about forgetting treats.  Can't imagine how she could.....

On the plus side, we had scrambled eggs this morning, which I like.  And there were sunpuddles.

I briefly saw your comment, Katie Isabella, before the mamma disappeared it.  She says it was an accident.  Oh well, at least I did see it.  But, yes, I have been thinking about what you said.  I have also let the mamma's visitors get glimpses of me and nothing awful has happened yet, so I thought I would see what happened.  I got ignored, just what I wanted.
